Hymnal is a satirical concept created for Deceit, an art project about the patterns of manipulation in institutional technology. There is no real worship product behind this page. Nothing entered on this site — signup, checkout, or the chat widget — is stored or sent anywhere outside this browser tab.

Takes old hymns and "updates" them for modern congregations. the theology is preserved. the meter is adjusted. the "problematic verses" are removed. "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound" stays. "saved a wretch like me" becomes "saved a person of worth like me." the wretch is deleted. the worth is retained.
